COURT UPDATE
Following a longer than expected wait for the report on resurfacing from the LTA's assessor, the committee has now finally received this document.
We have been advised to wait until the sping before repainting work is carried out to enable time for porosity to improve.
Exact wording within the report was as follows:
=================================
Lee West Associates [the LTA assessor] considered that the Club should apply a mild detergent wash to the entire block area to accelerate the curing process and monitor the porosity until the Spring of 2008. If problems of porosity were still being experienced by the club, then further testing would require to be undertaken.
On this basis, Lee West Associates stated that the courts should not be colour coated until the Spring of 2008.
=================================
The club's committee has already carried out one wash of the courts and will carry out a second in the next couple of weeks.
The committee appreciates that drainage needs to be improved and is as keen as every member to ensure that this issue is resolved satisfactorily and that we obtain the best result possible. Thank you for your continued patience on this matter.
Any member wishing to read the full report should contact Club Secretary, Steve Sharp (01873 810013; sharps@ffawyddog.fsnet.co.uk).
To assist in the removal of surface water, the club has purchased two water removers, which are located in the ball cupboard.
