Courts re-opened on Thursday 3 September
The newly painted courts were officially re-opened at 6.30pm yesterday with rave reviews from all players attending the Thursday club night!
Chairman Jeremy Kerrison officially cut the red ribbon to declare the courts open, with a glass of sparkling wine provided for the 16 players in attendance.
It has been a hard slog to get the courts finished following delays caused by the wrong density of tarmac being used initially (resulting in a second resurfacing by the contractor) and then rain delays over Easter when the courts were scheduled to be painted. However, it looks as though the wait has been worth it!
Members will also note that new protective padding has been placed around the two floodlight posts inside the court area to ensure the safety of players.
The new side gate to the courts is currently padlocked and will remain locked until further work has been carried out on the access ramp by Powys County Council.
